Ian E Hayes has been a Tax Practitioner for over 30 years during which time he has advised on all taxes, direct and indirect. His clients have included individuals, global and national corporate entities, charitable bodies, public authorities and government.
Currently he continues to practice in the area of indirect tax, especially VAT applicable to property, international and intra EU trade and charitable bodies. He was National Tax Partner for Armitage and Norton, VAT Partner for Buzzacott and
founder of Fiscal Solutions Ltd and Vatax Reclaim Ltd, both bespoke VAT Consultancies. He also owns European Fiscal Services Ltd, a company which is developing the use of software for EU wide VAT compliance.
His involvement in the development of the tax profession over the last 20 years has included being Chairman of the Tax Faculty of ICAEW, Chairman of the Tax Technical Committee of ICAEW and Chairman of the Business Law Committee of
ICAEW. He has been the representative of the ICAEW on the Council and General Assembly of CFE since 2002, and is now Chairman of the Professional Affairs Committee. He represents London as an elected member of the Council of ICAEW and is a director of the Institute of Indirect Tax.
