Suomen Veroasiantuntijat ry was established on 12 December 2000. The association has currently approximately 90 members most of whom work as tax advisers and consultants in ”big four” companies and top law firms.

According to the rules of the association, a person who acts or has acted as a full time tax consultant can be admitted as an ordinary member. Under special circumstances a person who does not act as a full time tax consultant, but otherwise fulfills the criteria for membership by working with taxation, can be admitted as an ordinary member.The purpose of the association is to act as a link between tax professionals in Finland and abroad and promote and monitor tax consultants’ general and joint professional interests. The association aims to maintain and develop professional skills and knowledge of the members and it also promotes a high level of professional ethics among the members. The association has recently been very active in taking part in improving tax legislation and giving statements on new tax proposals.
