About the organisation:

President: Mr. S.F.J.J. Schenk FB, The Hague

De Nederlandse Federatie van Belastingadviseurs (the Dutch Federation of Tax Advisers) was established in 1954. The tax advisers practice under the title of Federatie-Belastingadviseur (FB). The objectives of the organisation are to promote the tax advisory profession, defend professional interests and carry out activities in support of fiscal science. In its role as a professional organisation for those who protect the interests of taxpayers, the Federation’s tasks include providing recommendations regarding tax legislation and taking action when such legislation threatens to jeopardise the interests of taxpayers. In order to achieve its objectives, the Federation organises an annual congress, a six-year professional training programme, an advanced training course in tax law in cooperation with Leiden University, as well as numerous activities relating to continuing education (education permanente). The Federation has also established a special chair in European tax law at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. Tax advisors practising under the title Federatie-Belastingadviseur (FB) must meet professional ethical standards which are enforced by disciplinary measures. These members must be able to exercise every aspect of the tax profession (regardless of the nature or importance) in accordance with the highest professional standards.
